Thoughts of the Day
A few thoughts. First, several Texas Republican representatives are the first to use a program called Twitter to speak directly to the people of America. John Culberson and Tim Ryan are the first representatives to use this program, updating people (including me!) who follow them on what they are doing, straight from their work. Those who follow them also get the chance to chat with them a little while they aren’t working, and I myself got the chance to tease Mr. Culberson about getting off his lazy ass and getting to work. Power to the people!
Its a whole new world and a whole new language – this technology puts We the people in every room [of] our government. -John Culberson via Twitter
Campaign manager for Obama has made a strange prediction, namely that Obama could win Alaska in the presidential election. I wonder why?
An ad against McCain aired recently, gaining some ridicule and criticism. I don’t see why–in my opinion, it was a very effective and very emotional ad, making you think about the effect of McCain’s ideas on the average American. Who will pay for McCain’s 100-year war?
The Supreme Court just ruled in favor of gun owndership rights. While I agree people have a right to keep guns for self defense–for goodness sake, why do they need anything more than a pistol?
Read Atheist Revolution’s great post on conservatives accusing those who disagree with them of ‘un-Americanism’.
Another thought on evolution and God. If humans were created in the image of ‘God’, then why would God need physical advantages that would apply only to the needs of humans? Why would God need eyes? Why would he need a figure that allows him to sit? Why would he need to be physically a he? Why would he need a nose, muscles, etc? And there, I believe, is the ultimate flaw in Christian belief. If we were created in God’s image, we would be useless–but evolution has given us these things.
And I’m off.
