Good Little Sheep

Blog of the Gods made a great post pointing out the stupidity of the, most definitely, “brave” sheep going on CNN and attacking the most hated group in America. We shouldn’t silently be attacked again, so let’s respond by sending some emails, as Blog of the Gods did.

Here’s mine:

Thank you so much for spreading your anti-rationalism, anti-separation of church and state lies on television. You’re incredibly brave for attacking the most hated minority in America, there just aren’t enough people on television these days preaching self-righteously against atheists who (I know, this is just awful) want religion out of the government. Of course, it’d help if the two of you actually ever said anything that required the tiniest bit of reason or logic but as we all know, when religion’s on your side, you don’t need any. Keep it up!

I’m not sure which is worse: the statements Hunter made on television or the fact that she uses AOL.

I bet the Declaration of Independence really upsets you. Of course it does set up the next stage which was the need for a Constitution which eventually gave you your First Amendment Right, which a certain party seems content on removing with various bills up for debate in the house right now. Have you read the Declaration of Indpendence? It’s really not atheist friendly. Just curious what your thoughts are as you practice the wisdom of the forefathers who felt free speech and free assembly were important and spoke of unalienable rights which are endowed by the creator and the laws of God. Maybe you should start your rant there. The First Amendment really doesn’t support your case for a God to be removed from government. Go back and read the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence. You won’t find the terms separation between church and state. The First Amendment says that Congress can make no laws respecting an establishment of religion. In England, the government established which religion the nation would practice. It was usually based on the convenience of the ruler and shifted back and forth. The First Amendment doesn’t say God shouldn’t be a part of the American government and experience. I am not sure where you can make a valid argument that atheist are the most hated group in America either, since you are usually a group that is prayed for every Sunday. Get over your hate and negative energy. You have the right to be an atheist, and that is because the government can’t force you to be anything. That should be a good thing for all of us.

In an age before we had any scientific explanations for the Earth or life, deism was the eighteenth century equivalent of atheism. I hate to break it to you, Clay, but most founding fathers were deist. The documents don’t mention atheists because there were none.

I interpret the 1st amendment as meaning that no law can be passed that favors any religion over another. I think inserting “under god” to the pledge of allegiance and adding “in god we trust” (both of which were added in the 50s merely to try to differentiate America from the “evil atheist commies”) to money violates this because it favors religions who worship a single god that they simply refer to as god.

Nevermind that there isn’t any logical reason for them being there in the first place.

Clay, though, seriously, are you a troll? Some kind of joke? I don’t even know where to begin…we’re not hated because people pray for a deity to come down from the heavens and reaffirm their belief that we’re going to hell by taking away our freedom of thought? Where do I even begin?

I think Clay is a troll. I don’t think it’s biologically possible to be that stupid and capable of typing.
