Why Liberals Hate Sarah Palin
There’s no end to conservative speculation on “why liberals hate Sarah Palin”. And the answers conjured up by conservatives are endless. We’re physically intimidated by her, we’re angry she didn’t abort her child with Downs syndrome, we’re frightened that she’s middle class, and we’re threatened that she isn’t a slut.
Of course, these claims aren’t worth jack shit, considering they’re mere speculation from a group that’s only in the last year discovered sexism and feminism. As Jon Stewart so eloquently said when listening to one of these claims: Fuck you.
Here’s why I hate Sarah Palin: She’s a joke, and she makes a mockery of women across the nation and the globe. By rising to the national scene by simple virtue of her gender (let’s not pretend like McCain actually thought she’d make a good vice president), she cheapened the real progress other women in American politics who’d had to fight their way to gain respect. With her patronizing, folksy, vapid, substance-empty rhetoric, she insulted our intelligence and the intelligence of women everywhere. She is the poorest, yet most visible, example of a successful woman.
How about some women who actually deserve their offices, and treat themselves, their responsibilities, and their people with respect?
How about Yulia Tymoshenko, right, who manages to be beautiful without demeaning herself or her office as Prime Minister of Ukraine? Who campaigned against corruption without winks that burnt up the brain cells of viewers every time? Who increased salaries and benefits for public workers, brought divided people together, and is among the most powerful women in the world? Or perhaps Han Myeong-sook, prime minister of South Korea, who was imprisoned for teaching communist and democratic ideals to the poor and working class, fought for gender equality, and was active in foreign policy? Maybe Dalia Grybauskaitė, president of Lithuania, who earned the nickname “Iron Lady”, who won a landslide victory as an independent with a reputation for staying out of scandals.
But, no, of course. The only kind of female politician possible is one that’s all winks and no answers, and that’s how it should be, and we leftists are crazy for not being in love with her.
I don’t hate her because she makes a mockery of women. I hate her because she has serious potential to be Dubya II: Apocalypse.

Yeah, Palin is an idiot. I wouldn’t trust her with a paddleball, let alone a spot in the government.
I don’t see any references listed above concerning Palin’s policies. Because she has a northern dialect, or is pretty, or goes moose hunting is no reason to hate her. What she accomplished in Alaska, the office she held in general and the work she has done made her better qualified to be President than Obama. I don’t think liberals are scared of her, I think liberals are ignorant of her. Because she is Republican, Christian, a mother, and stands for conservative values and principles closes the minds of liberals automatically. I always hear the same arguments that she is a joke or is dumb, etc… But no liberal ever debates what she stands for and works for. Therefore, you can not argue a point in which you are ignorant about. Obama did not have any qualifications to become our president, however, people liked the way her spoke. Whoopee! Now we see him addressing the nation as if he is in a small business meeting. He has spent more money and added more to our deficit than all our other presidents combined. There are so many bad facts about his presidency, that liberals who voted for him attack the newsbearers instead of him. It’s absolutely rediculous. and …she has already had a spot in office and did a great job.
You realize that considering she’s a conservative, liberals are going to disagree with her right off the bat? Of course we disagree with her policies. That’s not why we hate her.
I agree – I can’t put up with her politics, any more than any other politician. But she’s insulting because she obviously doesn’t know anything about politics, and she’s insulting in how she treats voters. All of this is made worse because she’s a woman, and this is what Republicans see as a female politician.
It’s true, it’s how Republicans see women politicians. They can’t be dominant, assertive, knowledgeable – they have to identify as folksy mothers who don’t know nothin’ ’bout politics.
Her being, or not being a woman has nothing to do with why I hate her. Perhaps it is the fact that she knows or cares nothing about the history of our at-one-time great nation. She shows no respect or value of our Bill of Rights, nor any comprehension of what the Constitution of the United States serves. I doubt she could define constitution, let alone show any. Constitution, constipation, whatever.
How about Margaret Thatcher or mother Theresa!! No they aren’t great women because they like Sarah Palin, are conservatives… You hate all conservatives and Sarah Palin is the most prominient in American Politics!! I know you!! You are a hateful liberal who wants to control everyone elses life!!
