And Here I Am: Site, Personal Updates

The term is coming to an end, as as you may have noticed I’ve had more time on my hands for blogging, bitching, and whatever else that starts with ‘B’ – including some “interesting” conversations with a white supremist and his imaginary friends. I spent this semester as editor-in-chief for a weak, ill-funded community college newspaper I have little love of. Educational, stressful, and time-consuming. I could go on a good rant or ten, but this isn’t the place for it. I have, however, learned a lot about the state of illegal immigrants through the eyes of undocumented students at our school, which has been a wonderful opportunity. Hopefully, when I’ve finished the story, I’ll be able to post it here.

I’m considering signing up to freelance report for The Examiner, after a friend suggested it to me. The idea makes me so nervous – but better to commit and work hard now than never commit, I suppose.

Since blogging has long since stopped being a significant part of my life, and since I’ve been using Google for just about everything, I’ve been considering switching back to Google Blogger. The original reason I left was mostly because of the insane commenting system, which Disqus fixes nicely. Plus, Blogger would let me use HTML, when WordPress doesn’t. I’ve had comrades offer in the past to allow me to host WordPress on their servers, which would fix that problem – but blogging just doesn’t mean enough for me to ask anyone to donate time or effort. I’m still unsure about it, and any feedback would be appreciated.

I don’t see any problem with moving to Blogger, though it probably wouldn’t work as nicely as WordPress does. Just be sure to let us know if you move.

I’ve never used Disqus or Blogger so I don’t really know, sorry.
